This is a collection of new Celtic inspired prayers
and liturgy written
in the beauty of the Welsh Countryside for private and public
use, together with a selection of worship
resources and suggested
books on prayer.
The early Christian saints understood that God was with them
as they milked a cow, sowed a field, weeded, ploughed or harvested.
He was with them in the mundane as well as the spectacular,
the wind and rain as well as the sunshine, on mountain top
and seashore. Worship, prayer and life were truly connected.
Ah, if only we could reach that point, how our lives and
worship would be enhanced!
John Birch, Kidwelly, Wales
"Like water, be gentle and strong. Be gentle
enough to follow the natural paths of the earth, and strong
enough to rise up and reshape the world. "
Brenda Peterson
In the lonely places
The wilderness
Where we stand forlorn
Windswept and alone
Your voice calls out
Prepare a way for the Lord
In the dark places
The shadows
Where we hide our fears
Embrace our tears
Your voice calls out
Prepare a way for the Lord
There is a transformation that takes place
within the warmth of your embrace
That certain knowledge that you are
refuge, shelter, fortress and stronghold
against which no army can succeed
That you are Brother, Sister, Mother, Father
the love that knows no bounds
That you are God
And I am lost outside of your arms
(from Advent
Liturgies)
